SOME HIGHLIGHTED EVENTS OF THE PAST NINE YEARS
• In 2006, I initiated and implemented the Capital reinvestment reserve which, over the past six years, has accumulated $5.79 million dollars. This reserve has provided upfront funding for infrastructure projects valued at over $3.0 million dollars with reserves of $2.0 million still available. This initiative has saved the City of Quesnel millions of dollars that would otherwise have been borrowed at interest.
• I initiated and implemented the Tax Stabilization reserve to save the City from emergency tax loss. Out of that account an amount of $659,000.00 extra went to QRP Mill.
• I initiated and implemented an online program for posting election campaign expense and travel expenses for the Mayor, council and staff.
• The Bulk Water Plant was initiated and implemented with the City share of $311,652.00, a Grant of $270,000 and revenue to the City of $100,140.00 to date.
• Organized Family Day each year for the past nine years with the help of an advisory committee and 36,000 hours of community volunteer time and labour.
• CPAC office restructured with the assistance of RCMP Staff Sargeant Mr. Hilderbrand which resulted in savings of $500,000.00 over six years and ongoing.
• Initiated, budgeted and implemented a Garbage collection system that now saves the City $50,000.00 per year, $200,000.00 to date and ongoing.
• Voted in favour of prudent, financially sound decisions and voted in opposition to unsound decisions.
